Dce\u0159inou spole\u010dnost\u00ed t\u00e9to zna\u010dky je nap\u0159\u00edklad i Rolls-Royce. Logo automobilov\u00e9 spole\u010dnosti bylo vytvo\u0159eno po vzoru bavorsk\u00e9 vlajky, kter\u00e1 slazena do modr\u00fdch a b\u00edl\u00fdch barev. Jejich sloganem je \u201eradost z j\u00edzdy\u201c, na \u010dem\u017e asi hodn\u011b pravdy bude, kdy\u017e ro\u010dn\u00ed obrat t\u00e9to firmy je v\u00edce jak deset miliard euro. Je to prvn\u00ed z evropsk\u00fdch automobilek, kter\u00e1 si prosadila pou\u017e\u00edv\u00e1n\u00ed bezolovnat\u00e9ho benz\u00ednu, d\u00edky \u010demu\u017e mohla p\u0159edstavit na trh \u00fapln\u011b nov\u00e9 automobily s katalyz\u00e1tory. V roce 1992 se vozy zna\u010dky BMW staly neobl\u00edben\u011bj\u0161\u00edmi z nab\u00eddky p\u0159epychov\u00fdch aut na sv\u011bt\u011b. Koncem dvac\u00e1t\u00e9ho stolet\u00ed firma zakoupila spole\u010dnost Rover Group, tak\u017ee vozy jako Rover \u010di MG(dnes u\u017e zanikl\u00e9) nebo Land Rover spadly pod ni. O rok pozd\u011bji za\u010dala zna\u010dka vyr\u00e1b\u011bt sv\u00e9 motory a dod\u00e1vat pro letadlo McDonnell Douglas. Tak jako jsou dnes trendem auta poh\u00e1n\u011bn\u00e1 elektrikou, BMW bylo o t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 pades\u00e1t let rychlej\u0161\u00ed a sv\u016fj prvn\u00ed v\u016fz poh\u00e1n\u011bn\u00fd elekt\u0159inou p\u0159edstavilo v roce 1972, kdy v Mnichov\u011b prob\u00edhala olympi\u00e1da. Auto dok\u00e1zalo jednor\u00e1zov\u011b ujet a\u017e t\u0159icet kilometr\u016f.
